- Some of my newest special books (December 2009) -
Thoreau: Walden
(Folio
Society)
Slip case and the book on top of it. The silver
letters on the spine are pressed deep into the leather.
Silver on the top edge
Some of the pictures are fold-out. The image quality
is incredible.
Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam /
translated by Edward Fitzgerald
(Folio Society - Limited Edition of 1000)
Solander box covered with fine blue buckram. This is different from the Wind in
the Willows, that one is covered in linnen.
Metallic foil on the cover, a design by illustrator Niroot Puttapipat
On the top, the paper is cut and gilded. On the
bottom, is is rough
The limitation page with the signature of Niroot
Puttapipat, and a hand-printed engraving.
Illustrator Niroot Puttapipat did an incredible job.
Absolutely on the same level as Charles van Sandwyk did on the Wind in the
Willows,
but completely different in style.
Shining gold on the top.
William Shakespear: A Midsummer
Night's Dream
(Folio Society - Limited Edition of 3750
prints)
The solander box
Inside the box is the leather bound book, with a cover of specially created (and
unique for every book) marbled paper
The commentary volume is also in the box.
The book is printed on hand-milled paper, and printed in letterpress
(meaning actual lead letters were used in the process)
That's all for now! More in a few months time ;-)
